Front End Web Developer

The Front End Web Developer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the front end for our web properties, and coordinating with our design team to modernize our existing user experience and also collaborate on new projects. The ideal candidate is a web designer who is also highly proficient in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement front-end coding standards and process to create cross browser-compliant web pages from design comps
  • Identify opportunities for improvements/efficiencies and drive adoption within the team
  • Stay current with user interface best practices and emerging technologies
  • Create a rich user experience using JavaScript and other client-side RIA frameworks
  • Maintain website content

Required Skills and Experience:

Interactive Media Designer

The Interactive Media Designer will conceptualize and design world-class, customer-centric experiences that drive engagement. This individual will possess design experience in traditional media and can create outstanding product collateral, forms and other deliverables that incorporate best-in-class marketing and usability principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Create high-end, professional quality work in both traditional and digital mediums to meet deadlines and high standards for creativity, quality, and accuracy
  • Produce quick conceptual sketches for review and translate feedback and direction into results-oriented and polished designs, in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
  • Design and build consumer-centric, rich media and interactive experiences for web and mobile platforms including static and animated online banner ads, mobile ads and site skins that drive engagement while adhering to brand style guidelines
  • Design creative assets for landing pages, acquisition emails, as well as assets for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and other social media properties to achieve a cohesive campaign and brand experience

Java Software Engineer

The Senior Java Developer will help us build and enhance our integrated brokerage and technology trading platform. This is a great opportunity to participate in the design and construction of a modern, high-throughput transaction system.

Manager, Client Services

The Client Services Manager will lead our exceptional client services and call center organization. The successful candidate will be a high-energy, positive leader who has a minimum of 5 years managing client services and call center operations for a securities brokerage company, ideally for an online brokerage. Strong systemic thinking, cross-functional collaboration skills, and the passion for improving how people invest are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the call center servicing our retail direct customers, as well as relationship managers who provide service to our institutional clients, including financial advisors
  • Lead a team of 10+ representatives in a call center environment who deliver value and exceptional service that promotes client loyalty
  • Develop and implement programs that enhance representatives’ overall expertise and product knowledge
  • Develop team members through coaching, mentoring, and motivational techniques
  • Assess and resolve escalated client issues, help clients navigate Folio’s products, services and website

Marketing Associate

The Marketing Associate will learn and gain critical marketing and communications/public relations skills, while working in an exciting, fast-paced online brokerage company. The Marketing Associate will provide support on a variety of projects and must be smart and intellectually curious, unafraid to speak up/ask questions/engage others, energetic and highly organized. This is a rare learning opportunity for a new/recent graduate who wishes to establish a marketing and communications career.

Responsibilities:

  • Continuously canvas and maintain Folio’s websites, including partner sites, to ensure all content is well-written, accurate and current
  • Help write, edit and proof outstanding web content that is simple and easy to understand

Marketing Manager

The Marketing Manager will continuously QA, revise and develop content and web-based assets for Folio’s websites to ensure an exceptional user experience. This role intersects marketing, content development, user experience and brokerage operations and is ideally suited for the marketer who prefers a more operationally-focused role. Examples of major work-streams and deliverables include:

  • Writing web content that clearly articulates the benefits and key features of new features or platform services
  • Writing User Guides that enables users to make the most of platform capabilities through clear, easily understood copy, screenshots and diagrams
  • Revising online forms so they are more simple to use, while reducing errors
  • Collaborating with internal Product Managers to understand products and services in development and writing the web content and any supporting documentation
  • Overseeing and orchestrating the implementation of content releases

The successful candidate will be an exceptionally smart, energetic and highly organized professional who understands how to create best-in-class user experiences, with simple and elegant user interfaces and clear, concise content. This individual will also be tireless in thoroughly reviewing legacy content to identify areas for improvement.

Media Relations Manager

Media Relations Manager will be the key principal of an internal news bureau to conceive, generate and distribute news and content across traditional and new media channels, with the objective of maximizing earned media, distribution and frequency. Additionally, this individual will cultivate relationships with members of the media, including bloggers and other social media influencers, to ensure maximum visibility that is consistent with the brand strategy and corporate values.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with CEO and CMO to develop Communications Strategy, Media Approach and Message Architectures
  • Build and serve as the in-house new bureau. Continuously create highly effective strategies, pitches and storylines to insert Folio into the news cycle with high frequency, across all media channels including blogs
  • Create and manage an editorial calendar that includes both ad hoc and long lead initiatives around internal content development, Folio’s blog, and external opportunities
  • Write content such as press releases that integrate tactics (e.g., keywords) that positively influence SEO/SEM results
  • Cultivate and manage active conversations with members of the media so Folio is top of mind and often engaged for stories in development
  • Actively manage agency partners and structure resource expenditures to maximize agency value and consistently generate maximum earned media value

Senior Network Engineer

Folio has a highly available, Cisco-based network which supports a complex proprietary stock trading system. The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for both strategic and tactical initiatives, and will be involved in all network-related components in our environment. This individual will be responsible for designing, planning, implementing and providing ongoing operational support of the environment. A critical area of responsibility will be our Cisco VoIP/UC infrastructure. Ideally, we are looking for a Network Expert with some VoIP skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, plan, implement, troubleshoot and maintain data and voice networks
  • Assist in all facets (from design through support) of other network-related components (see Technologies below)

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in a similar Network Engineering role
  • Strong data networking background
  • Proficiency and knowledge of routing and switching
  • Ability to architect and maintain highly available networks
  • Experience with protocols such as BGP, EIGRP and IPSEC

Senior UNIX System Administrator

Folio maintains a high availability environment which supports a complex proprietary stock trading system. The Senior UNIX Administrator will be responsible for both strategic and tactical initiatives. This individual will be deeply involved in designing, planning, implementing and providing ongoing operational support of the environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Systems Administration support on Solaris 10/11 Servers, both SPARC and x86
  • Perform new server installs, zone and container creation and maintenance, diagnose and resolve performance issues
  • Systems Administration on Linux/Ubuntu Servers
  • Systems Administration on Windows Servers and Windows Hyper-V Clusters
  • SAN and disk array Administration support, including Hitachi Data Systems VSP and Brocade switches
  • Responsible for support of data replication software and maintenance of DR environment at separate site
  • Application support including system monitoring packages, mail server, DNS and collaboration software
  • Monitor and manage daily backups to ensure successful completion

Technical Operations Engineer

Folio maintains a high availability environment which supports a complex proprietary stock trading system. Our Technical Operations Engineer will be responsible for ensuring processes, both automated and human, are structured in the most effective and reliable way in order to meet Service Level Agreements. This individual will focus on continual improvement of day-to-day operational activities. S/he will analyze workflow and processes to identify improvements to efficiency, reliability and resiliency then recommends and helps implement changes.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyze and report on key operational data including, but not limited to, process run times, system and database utilization, application performance and SLA metrics
  • Develop deep understand of periodic processing cycles—daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually.
  • Identify and resolve recurring issues
  • Identify, recommend and help implement improvements to workflow and processes

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in IT Operations
  • Significant experience with workload automation tools (Experience with AutoSys a plus)
