E. Murray Cook
E. Murray Cook founded and serves as the CEO of Migration Software Systems, Ltd., an industry leader in software engineering solutions and training. Migration, based in San Jose, provides leading-edge technology solutions in the areas of relational databases, the Internet, and network security. In addition, Migration is a leading developer of data warehouse training and has developed systems and applications software for the Internet in conjunction with Netscape, Hewlett-Packard, Cisco, and Digital Equipment over the past three years. Mr. Cook holds a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Florida. He has completed graduate school at Texas A&M University with a specialty in meteorology and also the University of Santa Clara, specializing in biomedical engineering.
Jeffrey P. Cusack
Jeffrey P. Cusack is President and Executive Managing Director of Tradewinds Global Investors (a Nuveen Investments, LLC affiliate). Prior to that he was Managing Director, Registered Investment Advisor and Alternative Investment Distribution at Nuveen. Before that he was President of Forward Management, LLC in San Francisco. Mr. Cusack’s experience includes, Managing Director for REX & Co.–a real estate investment company; Executive Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing for JPMorgan Private Client Services; Senior Vice President and Head of Managed Accounts for Charles Schwab; and Senior Vice President and Divisional Director of Smith Barney Consulting Group, where he supported Financial Consultants serving high net worth investors and institutions. He is a Certified Investment Management Analyst and holds a BA in Business Administration from New England College.
Matt Lynch is the Managing Partner of Strategy & Resources, LLC, a financial services consulting firm. Mr. Lynch has over 25 years of industry experience as a financial services executive and advises senior executives on corporate-level strategy, resource optimization, and change management. His work has included numerous corporate strategy engagements for leading banks, insurance companies, broker/dealers, investment management firms, technology firms, CPA firms, fee-based financial advisors, and venture capital firms. Previously, Mr. Lynch served as President & CEO of Capital Analysts Incorporated, CFO of Lincoln Financial Advisors, and in field management roles with New York Life. He served as a Director of the business consulting group at Moss Adams, LLP, where he was widely recognized for his industry expertise in succession planning, M&A, and financial services distribution strategies. Mr. Lynch was also a Principal at Tiburon Strategic Advisors, where he focused on strategy consulting. Mr. Lynch is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and holds an MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati.
Bruce W. Shewmaker
Bruce W. Shewmaker is a Managing Director of MVC Capital, Inc., a publicly traded business development company listed on the NYSE. Prior to his tenure at MVC, he co-founded and advised CrossBow Ventures, a private investment fund and SBIC with committed capital of $160mm. Previously, he was the Managing Director of E*Offering, an investment banking firm that was later merged into WIT Sound View Group. Mr. Shewmaker also served as President and Director of the U.S. Russia Investment Fund, the largest American Enterprise Fund, which made both equity and debt investments throughout regions of Russia. Mr. Shewmaker’s previous experience includes founding an investment management and advisory firm called New Century Management, which was later merged with Habros Bank; acting as Managing General Partner of Vector Venture Partners Group; roles as President of Merrill Lynch R&D Management, Inc.; acting as Chairman of Merrill Lynch Oklahoma Venture Partners and as Vice President of Merrill Lynch Venture Capital, Inc. Mr. Shewmaker has vast experience both managing and advising companies in all stages of development. Mr. Shewmaker’s expertise rests in the creation and implementation of innovative investment vehicles. Mr. Shewmaker serves on the boards of the Venture Investors Association of New York and Infrared Imaging Systems, Inc. Mr. Shewmaker received his B.S. in Finance from the Ohio State University and has completed graduate work in Management Studies at the Graduate School of Business of New York University.
Kathleen M.H. Wallman
Kathleen M.H. Wallman is Co-Founder of FOLIOfn, Inc. She has served as an economic adviser to President Clinton and Vice President Gore as a Deputy Assistant for Economic Policy at the National Economic Council. Prior to that, she served as Deputy Counsel to the President in the Office of White House Counsel. She also served in senior positions at the Federal Communications Commission. Prior to entering government service, Wallman was a partner in the Washington, D.C.-based law firm, Arnold & Porter. Wallman consults in the field of telecommunications and technology policy through her firm, Wallman Consulting, LLC and represents clients in litigations and other legal proceedings through her law firm Kathleen Wallman, PLLC.
Steven M.H. Wallman
Steven M.H. Wallman, a Commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from 1994 to 1997, played a leading role in formulating policies that brought the Internet and other advanced technologies into wide use within the securities industry. Mr. Wallman is a recognized authority on securities markets and trading, and the application of technology to financial services. He also was a partner at the Washington, D.C. law firm of Covington & Burling. In 2012, Mr. Wallman was appointed to the SEC’s Investor Advisory Committee, which counsels the Commission on regulatory priorities and initiatives to protect investor interests. Mr. Wallman earned a law degree from Columbia University, and holds two degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, including an M.S. from the Sloan School of Management.
