Folio Investing Takes Brand Message to NASCAR Audience

07/01/2010

McLean, Virginia – Folio Investing’s brand message of “Smart Investing, Made Simple,” is being taken to the growing and impressive NASCAR audience.

The McLean-based brokerage’s logo will be displayed on the car driven by the highly rated Kenny Wallace in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Daytona International Speedway on Friday. The race will be broadcast live on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. EDT. The telecast of a previous Nationwide Series race from Daytona, the season-opener on Feb. 2, attracted a cable television record for the series with an average of 4.2 million viewers.

“With surveys showing that one-third of American adults follow NASCAR, it was time for us to reach out to that passionate and loyal audience,” said Greg Vigrass, president of Folio Investing’s institutional division. “As a company focused on making diversified portfolio-style investing affordable and attainable for every kind of investor nationwide, NASCAR is a logical next step.”

Now in its third year, NASCAR’s Nationwide Series includes 35 races from February through November. Wallace, driving his No. 28 Chevrolet, is currently the 17th ranked driver in the series. Wallace has finished in the Top 10 in NASCAR events in nine of his 12 full-time seasons.
