Objective

The Analyst Upgrade folio was developed for investors seeking high capital appreciation potential with higher volatility and asset turnover.

Strategy

The Analyst Upgrade folio is comprised of stocks that have had the greatest improvement in analyst ratings over the past month.

Steps to Create This Folio

  1. We examined buy ratings by equity analysts for all stocks in the S&P 500, as reported by Zacks Investment Research. Zacks gives each a company a rating in the form of a number ranging from 1 to 5. The lower the number, the more strongly an analyst recommends buying that particular stock and vice versa as a sell rating for higher numbers.
  2. We selected the 30 stocks with the largest equity rate improvement rating from the prior month.
  3. We equally weighted all securities in the folio.

Number of Securities

There are generally 30 securities in the folio.

Update Frequency

Monthly.

If the characteristics of the folio have changed substantially, the securities included may change. Also, corporate actions, such as a merger, or other events may cause changes to the securities held at any time. Your returns may deviate significantly from the values displayed here, due to many factors, including how long after a folio has been updated that you place orders to update your holdings.
