Ready-to-Go Folios: Precious Metals Folio

Sector/Industry Folios | All Folios

Objective

The Precious Metals folio is designed for investors seeking capital growth. Also, for investors to potentially hedge against inflation, and can withstand significant volatility.

Strategy

The Precious Metals folio consists of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) invested in gold, silver and platinum.

Our Precious Metals folio is intended to provide investors with improved overall diversification by providing a more liquid way to invest in the selected precious metals than direct ownership of bullion, coins, or other forms of physical metal.

Steps to Create This Folio

  1. We selected ETFs that directly invest in gold, silver and platinum.
  2. We then screened for ETFs that either exceeded $250 million in assets or had an average 3-month trading volume of 50,000 shares
  3. We then selected the ETFs with the lowest expense ratios.
  4. We equally weighted the ETFs in the folio.
